The Story
Before there was a recording contract, a creative company, or a 3,000-square-foot media hub, there was an eleven-year-old kid in Toledo writing his first rap. Inspired by Michael Jackson and the energy of Yo! MTV Raps, Anthony Turner turned school lunchrooms into makeshift concert stages. Even then, the name “Chiefalone” fit — he didn’t need a title to lead. People simply paid attention.
Those lunchroom sessions grew into a career spanning more than two decades. Chiefalone went from local stages to touring with R&B legends Boyz II Men and En Vogue, and signed with Soul Chemistry / Universal Music Group. Rather than wait on the industry, he started his own label in 2009 and built a catalog of seven albums released worldwide.
“A Toledo artist who once created a stage wherever he stood — now creating stages, spaces, and opportunities for others.”
In 2024 he executive produced 7 Day Theory with R.E.D. In 2025 he wrote and produced “Vibrate” featuring RHS for the inaugural Metamorphosis fashion show, and was named an Arts Commission Accelerator Grant recipient. In 2026 came “Take the Night” for Metamorphosis II, a performance at Party at the Park during R&B Park Jam Weekend — and the opening of Chosen Enterprise, a media hub with music and photo studios, a conference room, and a space for listening sessions and guest speakers.
